Under pressure Zerbo to face fired-up Gold Stars at the Duns park.

Asante Kotoko will be out to snap three-game winless run in Ghana Premier League when they lock horns against Gold Stars languishing in 5th in the league table at Duns park on Monday afternoon.

Asante Kotoko are badly in need of a morale boost following their three draws on a roll in the League matches and further reduction to the playing staff through injuries and suspensions. Despite recent travails, the league champions are still on the 3rd position and just a point disparity between them and their opponent.

Gold Stars have exploited their good form currently to be at their best position so far since their inception into the Premiership. Accruing most of their points at their invincible home venue, having won four out of the five games with just a draw – no defeat for the miners at home.

It was same story last season until Isaac Oppong’s screamer made a history for Asante Kotoko at the Duns Park. The reds are emerging Bibiani again in dire need of a win to revamp their recent retarded form, and Zerbo is fortunate to have the history maker and Georges Mfegue back to his squad from injuries.

With Justice Blay, Richmond Lamptey and Enoch Morrison suspended, Mubarik Yusif is likely to pair with Maxwell Agyemang at the back. The midfield is expected to compromise Richard Boadu, Ernest Osei Poku and Eric Zeze whiles The return of Mfegue and Oppong looks forward to complement Mukwala upfront, Nicholas Mensah could be an option for both wings and Sheriff Mohammed will probably maintain his makeshift right back position with Charles Owusu making surges from the other laterals.

The host will hunt for their first win against Asante Kotoko in the top flight as the Porcupines emerges the Duns Park with the confidence for a repetition of history. Michael Osei was blamed for a soft play with Asante Kotoko as a former coach and player in last season and he’s expected to change the narratives as Seydou Zerbo must also ensure a win to keep pace with Aduana Stars and Hearts of Oak on top.
