Rail Club du Kadiogo of Burkina Faso has finally received clearance by Confederations of Africa Football (CAF) to host their first round preliminary stage qualification of CAF Champions League match against Asante Kotoko at the Stade de l’Amitie sports stadium in Cotonou. The multipurpose 20,000 capacity sports stadium also known as General Mathiou Kerekou friendship stadium situated in the capital of Benin is also the favourite grounds for the country’s national soccer teams.
The match supposedly to be played at Stade Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast due to the suspension on Stade du 4th Août – the home grounds of RC Kadiogo by CAF as a results of it’s non-conformity with international requirements since March 2021 had a eleventh hour change of venue by CAF following the failure of Ivorian Football Federation to approve the request from the Burkinabe side.
