Asante Kotoko coach Seydou Zerbo into his maiden competitive contest has finally named his 22-man squad prior to the first round preliminary stage of CAF champions league group stages qualifier against the champions of his native land, RC Kadiogo.

The Burkinabe head coach list includes nine (9) newly recruited players who are expected to have their first feeling of action in an official encounter for the porcupine warriors. The Cameroonian goal poacher, Franck Etouga Mbella and Ivorian newbie, Eric Serge Zeze notably couldn’t make the cut due to match fitness and technical considerations respectively.

The selected squad and the rest of contingent are expected to begin the journey by road on Thursday morning to face their Burkinabe counterparts on Monday, 12th September 2022 at the Stade de l’Amitie sports stadium in Cotonou, Benin. Kotoko Focus TV can reliably report that, the eleventh hour changes in the match schedules caused a snag in the airline arrangements thus resulted the club’s decision to embark the journey through the borders.
