*AFRICAN SUPER LEAGUE*

Preliminary discussions of the African Super League indicate that there will be 24 teams spilt in 3 groups of 8 teams each.

Each team will play 14 Group games ( 7 Home and 7 away) before the Best teams advance to the ROUND OF 16.(top 5 + 1 best 6th placed team)

There is a suggestion that the Groups will be broken down regionally to save on the cost of travelling.

The Groups will be broken down into North Africa Group, West/Central Africa Group and East/Southern Africa Group.

Teams that will be selected will be based on the position on the CAF Rankings as well as some Legacy Clubs ( Teams that have done well in CAF Competition in the past and have huge fanbase & traditional rivalry)

-Minimum 4 countries per Region
– Maximum 3 teams per country
– Total between 14-18 countries
– 1 Wild card per region (legacy team**)

So the Groups may look like this according to the above Criteria

NORTH:
🇪🇬Al Ahly, 🇪🇬Zamalek, 🇹🇳Esperance SC, 🇹🇳Etoile Du Sahel, 🇲🇦Wydad Casablanca, 🇲🇦Raja Casablanca, 🇲🇦 RS Berkane🇩🇿JS Kabylie**

WEST/CENTRAL:
