The current leader of the Ghana premier league, Kumasi Asante Kotoko have been in a superb form throughout the season, breaking records and scoring goals with rampant rapidity at the dreaded Baba Yara sport stadium.
This is a season thet Kotoko broke the Dormaa curse by winning against Aduana stars. lot of memories to remember at the Baba Yara stadium as well as match played in aways. In spite of showing great character and personality in game throughout the season, the performance of the team has been dwindling in the last two premier league game between Real Tamale United and Legon Cities.
After producing an average performance against Real Tamale United, One would expect a great performance from the team in their next matches but that was never the case. it was the beginning of another catastrophe at Baba Yara sport stadium on Sunday as Legon Cities trash the league leaders by 3 goals to 1. Asante Kotoko conceded a very dubious penalty in the 16th minutes after Christopher Nartey’s challenge on Jonah Atoquay.
The penalty seems very controversial but that will not stop Legon Cities from taking the lead through the penalty spot.

Legon Cities wen to score their 2nd goal after players were caught ball watching with a fine finish from Hans Kofie. In an attempt to comeback into the game, Dr, Ogum made a quick substitution in the 34th minutes in the 1st half taking off Dickson Afoakwa and bring on Salifu Mudairu who made very quick impact in the game by scoring from an intelligent taken corner kick from Imoro Ibrahim.
Asante Kotoko ended the 1st half full of hope after pulling one goal back and raising their game just when everybody thought Kotoko was going to equalize, Legon Cities made it three (3) after Hans Kofie clever driving header found the back of the net.
The second half was full of chances for both teams with Cities having the better of them. After 90 minutes, it was clear that Legon were the better side of the two teams and deserved the win.
Although Asante Kotoko is still on top of the league with 8  points lead, Bechem have the chance to close the gap as they play on Monday.
The two should be a warning to Asante Kotoko. Losing two games on a row is painful but your ability to recover from such defeats quickly is what guarantee a true champion.
Kotoko next match is against WAFA at Sogakope. Can they turn back the result?
