Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum after winning the league in his first season with Asante Kotoko has been nominated for the best coach of the 2021/22 football season in contention with Henry Wellington and Kassim Mingle of Samartex and Bechem United FC respectively. Coach Ogum with Asante Kotoko impressively won the league with two games to spare as the best away performing side, led Kotoko to attained their maiden victory against Aduana Stars and WAFA at their respective home venues. Also won against Medeama in Tarkwa for the first time since 2014 and another victory against Hearts of Oak in a league match at Baba Yara after the last six years.

Imoro Ibrahim and Franck Etouga Mbella are also part of nominees for the home-based footballer of the year award including Yaw Annor and Augustine Okrah of Ashgold and Bechem United respectively. Imoro as a defender is having a wonderful season, garnished with 9 assists and two goals from stupendous free kicks whereas Etouga is also included with no doubts after notching 21 goals and 6MVPs from twenty seven (27) matches played as a foreign debutant.

Meanwhile, Danlad Ibrahim is as also in contention for the goalkeeper of the year in opposition to foreign based Jojo Wollacott and Iddrisu Ibrahim of Bechem United. After taking the nod from Razak Abalora in match day 11 against Aduana Stars, Danlad Ibrahim showcased a scintillating performance which saw Kotoko as the champions of the premier league and least conceding team. Having conceded just 12 goals in 20 matches with another 12 cleen sheets from the outings.

Ghana football awards is expected to be held after the end of 2021/22 football season.
