Gerrard Nus Casanova nearing the nod as new Asante Kotoko technical director.

The former Black Stars assistant coach with his sporting experience around the globe is reportedly leading the quest to be the next technical director for Asante Kotoko. The Ghanaian giants aims at providing a formidable backroom support for their newly appointed Burkinabe head coach with regards to their hunt for an impactful contests into the new season.

The 37-year old after retiring at an early stage as a footballer has had experience in working as a coach around the continents with both clubs and national teams. A widely travelled Spanish UEFA Pro license holder had previously worked with European top clubs including Liverpool, Brighton & Hove Albion, Elche and Rayo Vallecano.

Nus, started his coaching career in England at the reputable academy side of Liverpool before getting promotion to the coaching staff of the senior team in 2008 under the tutelage of Rafa Benitez. His exceptional contribution aided the reds to finish as the runners up in 2008/09 premier league season and Uefa champions league respectively.

In relation to his national team experience, the Spaniard was appointed as an assistant coach for the Black Stars in December 2014 where his input catalyzed the Ghana national team to the 2015 African cup of nations grand finale and only got defeated by Cote D’Ivoire in the last game in Malabo. He left his last job as an assistant coach for the Greece national team in February this year.

The likeliest inclusion of the Spanish expert is expected to provide a formidable technical know-how and support to various sporting activities for the senior team and help to raise talents for the youth side.
