The chairman of National Sports Authority in the Ashanti region has given hopes of guidelines that will accomplish the patches at Baba Yara sports stadium to meet the approval of CAF for Asante Kotoko to host their matches at the venue for the upcoming Caf Competitions. The venue which was recently omitted from CAF approved list of stadiums to host category “A” official matches is getting ready to meet the standard according to Mr Emmanuel Appiah.
“We have done almost about 92 to 93% of the things Caf demanded us to do at the stadium. The only thing left for now, is the internet connection and authorities are negotiating with one of the network providers to get it done as well. I learnt, the work won’t even take up to a month and once the approval is sorted, everything will done quickly. The NSA chairman for the region in a down right statement when he was queried about the current state of the stadium at Sompa Duase sports show on Kumasi based Sompa FM.
Mr Appiah was also emphatic on improving the requirements at the dressing rooms and pitch before the next official inspections. “Works are also in progress on the dressing rooms, what’s left is the pitch, we will keep on to make everything completed before the next visit of the clubs licensing board” He furtherly stated.
Asante Kotoko are waiting for approval after they had submitted the Baba Yara sports stadium as their favorite venue to host the upcoming Africa competition, depending on the next official visit to the stadium by CAF inspections team.
