Asante Kotoko’s Danlad Ibrahim to replace injured Jojo Wollacot for the Qatar 2022 world cup.
Black Stars goalkeeper, Jojo Wollacot injured his finger during a warm up session in a game between his club, Charlton Athletic against Burton Albion on last Saturday and latest reports confirmed the player to miss the upcoming world cup in Qatar after undergoing a scan.
The Ghana’s first choice was expected to be named in Coach Otto Addo’s final 26-man squad ahead of the world cup on Monday, November 14.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko shot stopper, Danlad Ibrahim is reportedly to be the fitted replacement to the injured Wollacot following his consistent contributions for Asante Kotoko and other various national teams.
Danlad was very instrumental in Asante Kotoko league triumph last season whilst his goalkeeping acumen also guided the Black Galaxies to qualify for the 2023 CHAN after missing out on three previous occasions.
The Kotoko deputy captain was also the man in between the sticks when the Black Meteors edged out the Mozambique counterparts to the next qualifying round of All Africa games.
The 19 year old goalie after enlisted in the Coach Otto Addo’s 55 man provisional list is likely to be the only home-based player together with Hearts of Oak’s Afriyie Barnie to make the final for the Qatar based tournament.
