Just after the rupture with Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum, Asante Kotoko in the next few days are likely to announce their successive head coach to take over the helm into the approaching season. Kamou Malo, the former Burkinabe cop is expected to be unveiled as Asante Kotoko new head coach for the 2022/23 season.
The ex footballer after relinquished his highest rank as a captain in the Burkina’s police service to pursued his coaching career in Germany is reportedly to have agreed to take in charge for a period of one season. In accordance with his appointment, Kamou Malo is expected to join the team for the preseason trip to Turkey and commences his charges ahead of the upcoming season.
Malo at 58, in his twelve (12) years coaching savvy has managed top domestic clubs which includes AS Sonabel, USFA and RC Kadiogo, where he led the triumphant for two consecutive Burkinabe Premier League titles in 2016 and 2017 with the Asante Kotoko opponent for the upcoming Caf Champions League first round prelims.
He was appointed as the head coach for the Burkina national team in 2019 following his alluring exploits with the domestic outfits and guided the Stallions to the fourth place of 2021 Africa Cup of nations held in Cameroon after the respective defeats to Senegal and the host country.
Asante Kotoko in their chase for group stages entry in Caf Champions League after sixteen (16) years and the driven to maintain the domestic dominance are hoping of a thriving stint with the new coach. The Burkinabe will be the first African coach from a different country to manage the club.
