Exclusive : Christopher Nettey finally leaves Asante Kotoko after three years.
The most regarded mind-numbing right back after three years has eventually called it a quit with Asante Kotoko. The player officially received his released letter confirming his separation and end of his three years contract with the Ghanaian giants in the early morning of Tuesday – Kotoko Focus TV confirmed.
Nettey joined Asante Kotoko from the Attram de Visser academy, an Accra based division one (1) outfit in December 2019 for a whooping $35, 000. Money which was later paid by the current management after a lot of misgivings were raised on the price tag during the previous administration.
The 24 year old in his three seasons at Asante Kotoko was privileged for a call up into the national team and made his debut for the Black Stars against Sudan in Cape Coast in November 2020. In December 2019, he won his first trophy in a debut for Asante Kotoko after a victory against arch rivals Hearts of Oak in the president’s cup at the Baba Yara sports stadium.
A league winner with Asante Kotoko after his input helped the club to secure the league title in the 2021/22 season. Christopher Nettey eventually leaves as a free agent following the expiry of his three years contract.
